Week 7: Discussion on Rituals of Bereavement
This week we will focus on Grief, Personal Loss, Terminal Illness, Bereavement. You will learn about various models of conceptualizing grief, stages of grief, theoretical approaches to grief counseling, as well as techniques and assessment methods commonly used in this area. This is one area issues that you are almost certain to encounter in your professional counseling career.

When you have listened to all the audio clips, respond to the following questions:
1. What are the three things the most significant things you learned from your course materials (readings and video clips) this week? Explain why you think they are important.
2. Select one of the conceptual approaches to bereavement on page 420 of the James text and demonstrate how it might help to explain the experiences of the individuals whose stories are contained in the audio clips.
