Module 05 Course Project – Putting It All Together: Applying What You Learned

Assignment Background
This final project will provide you with an opportunity to apply what you have learned throughout the course. Especially with regard to topics such as typography, composition, color, and layout.
In this assignment you will be creating a flyer for the United Way charitable organization. You should develop your flyer with a specific target audience and a goal in mind; your colors, text, and images should reflect those choices.
Goal: The goal is to recruit new volunteers to the United Way programs.
Target Audience: You may select your target audience from the choices below.

Females 18-35
Males 18-35
Females 36-50
Males 36-50
Seniors 50 plus

Photographs Available to Use: Although you are free to locate and cite an appropriate image from the Creative Commons (as you have done in earlier assignments), a selection of photographs — one for each target audience — can be downloaded using the link below. The image files are contained in a zip file so you will need to extract the files.

Font Recommendations:

Sans serifs: Impact, Helvetica Bold, Bebas Neue, Verdana, or Calibri
Serifs: Rockwell Extra Bold, Times, Bookman Old Style, Bodoni, or Bodoni MT Black
Avoid novelty fonts and fonts inappropriate for posters – no Comic Sans or Papyrus

Assignment Requirements
After selecting your target audience from the options above, apply your knowledge of color to create an appropriate color scheme. Use your knowledge of type to select your fonts. Do not use more than 2 or 3 typefaces in your design.
The flyer should be created using  Microsoft Word, be designed for 8.5 x 11 paper, have a color background,  colored text with both a headline and body copy. A photograph should be placed  in the flyer (some photos provided in file above). The background and type  should meet a specific color scheme of your choosing.
The following text must be incorporated into your flyer:
