This project assesses students’ understanding in the following areas. 1. The physical air cargo flow from origin to destination. 2. The roles and responsibilities of the various cargo service providers. 3. The handling and storage requirements for different cargo commodities. 2. Background Select ONE commodity type from the list in Part 6. “Mine is about “RACEHORSES”. Analyze the different roles and responsibilities of the shipper, air carrier, origin/destination ground handler, and origin/destination freight forwarder in delivering the cargo from origin to destination. You should present your answer according to the delivery milestones in figure 1. At each milestone, describe the different handling requirements: (a) transport, (b) packing, (c) documentation and (d) storage requirements for each commodity type, where applicable. 1. Students should submit a written report of not more than 10 pages. The report shall cover the following sections: Executive Summary ? A one to two paragraph summary of the key points of the report. Introduction ? Introduce the cargo commodity and its typical supply chain. Contents ? Detailed findings and conclusion. Students can use diagrams, flowcharts and relevant pictures to support the report. References ? List all the reading materials or references that you have used in completing your assignment. Use APA referencing. 3. Individual Presentation.
