The use of deadly force is the last resort for police officers. As a result, they have many options they can employ before taking lethal actions. For this assignment, prepare a law enforcement manual of best practices in the use of force.
Begin by identifying the different types of non-lethal force used by police agencies. Be sure to document the level of effectiveness for each, including examples to support your findings. Indicate best practices to appropriately deploy these techniques when encountering suspects. Investigate legal and ethical considerations for each type of non-lethal force and you provide your best practices.
