You will find an SME for your investigation. This SME can be in any industry, any country. You will have to approach the company and ‘interview’ founders, directors, presidents, ex founders or senior managers and employees (primary data). You may also use secondary data from the company e.g. annual reports, websites, etc. 1. Individual Report (100%) – Turnitin – Written report: 3500 words max. Write your report in a ‘case study format’. – Use of business and management theories and modules are necessary to analyse the SME chosen for investigation. – Harvard style references. – Bibliography. a) Internationalization: Focus on a case where a small company made its first international sale. Discuss how it found its first foreign client (E.g. through a local client, or through an intermediary), what were its main concerns with operating internationally (costs, issues of language and culture). Explain how the first international sale affected its subsequent trajectory, and talk also about its second and third sales (less in detail).
